our story

We’re Anna and Robin – a writer and a sound designer with over 20 years' experience in theatre, and the founders of Flintlock Education, where for the past 15 years we’ve helped hundreds of children and teenagers build confidence through drama and storytelling.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve worked with many neurodivergent children – including those with autism and ADHD – and we’ve seen how challenging it can be for traditional classroom settings to fully support every learner’s needs. While the early years of primary education are often full of playful, active learning, this approach can taper off as children progress through school. We began to reflect more deeply on how schools can support all kinds of learners, particularly those who thrive through movement, hands-on challenges, and non-traditional ways of learning.

We know that teachers across the country are doing incredible, dedicated work – and many already understand how powerful active learning can be. But we also know that developing rich, in-depth activities takes time, energy, and resources that teachers often just don’t have.

We created
Storienteering as a meaningful, affordable way to bring high-quality, adventure-based learning into schools – without adding to teachers’ workloads or leaving the school site. It’s designed to be flexible, exciting, and accessible, giving students a chance to learn through movement, teamwork, and hands-on discovery.

We’re proud of what we’ve created so far – but this is just the beginning. Watch this space.
